GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC AMBALA -- ELECTRICAL ENGG.

The Deptt. of Electrical Engg. is having all modern and updated facilities. The deptt. has Electrical Machine Lab, Measurement Lab, Electrical wiring lab & Computer Lab for conducting the various experiments / exercises and project as per diploma education program. The various projects (outdoor / indoor) are fabricated and developed as per the syllabus guidelines. This practice creates innovation and development attitude among the young students.

In the project activity the students are trained to fabricate and assemble voltage stabilizer's power Invertor, transformer winding, radio receivers using IC and digital clock etc. The deptt. has 62.5 KVA 3 Phase alternotor also which supplies power in the institution at the event of power capacity. The two more alternetor of 62.5 KVA of each have been procured under World bank Project which are being installed & to be used for workshop block. Electrical maintenance of the institution is also being done by the deptt. Above all there is excellent Computer facilities in the Electrical Engg. deptt. The computer centre of this deptt has 12 PC-AT with latest features and version. The Computer Centre has LAN facility, 1 Laserjet Printer , 2 Inkjet Printer, 1 Plotter, 1 Digitizer and one scanner. The Computer centre has various licensed software also i.e. Windows 98, Page Maker, Visual Foxpro, WS-7, Autocad-14, etc. The practical training is imparted to staff and students in this computer centre.

The diploma holders of this deptt. have found employement in various department of State & Centre i.e. PWD B&R, HVPN, HUDA & Housing Board, MES, Indian Railways, CPWD, Telecom and Private sector. Many of them have become enterpreneurs also. All the cultural activities are also arranged by Electrical Engg. Deptt.
